Following the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction, a new member has been inducted into the Capital Circle, and three have been recognized with lifetime achievement awards. Fundamental pillars of the State Fair’s nonprofit mission statement, promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement are integral to the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction. Only with the support of community leaders, local businesses, participating exhibitors, individuals who organize the event, and donors/fundraisers is this event possible every year. At the 73rd Annual Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction, held on Friday, October 1, the new honoree of the Capital Circle was recognized.
The Youth Livestock Auction Committee inducts committee members into the Capital Circle when they have raised $250,000 and/or donated $125,000. This year’s inductee is Frank Deel. Mr. Deel was recognized and presented with the unique Capital Circle insignia lapel pin. For his efforts in supporting the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction, Frank Deel will enjoy a lifetime of VIP access to the Stemmons Lounge in the Briscoe Carpenter Livestock Center, where permanent recognition will also be displayed. His contributions to the Fair have, in turn, supported students across the Lone Star State.
The highest award in the Capital Circle is the Lifetime Achievement Award. These individuals are recognized upon having raised $500,000 or having donated $250,000. This year’s awardees are Terry Dallas, Gina Norris, and David Osborne. Their enduring commitment to the Fair and its nonprofit mission allows the Fair to continue to support our nonprofit initiatives, including more than $30 million in auction awards and college scholarships being given to students throughout Texas.
The State Fair of Texas extends our deepest gratitude to Frank Deel, Terry Dallas, Gina Norris, and David Osborne for their generosity and dedication to the State Fair of Texas, its mission, and students across Texas.
