It’s that time of year again folks! Exhibitors have been preparing for months in light of the State Fair of Texas® market livestock show, hoping to take home the grand prize. The tension is rising as show day approaches and kids get their animals groomed to show.
Each exhibitor hopes to achieve return profits – securing the fact their hard work and efforts have paid off. It’s a gamble for each exhibitor, as a lot of money and time are invested in each project, with the results unknown.
Market show livestock entries are greater than previous years. With 2013 still the record holder; the 2014 show is a close second. This year, there are 2,000 livestock exhibitors and 2,700 entries. With numbers this big, the competition will be great!
The shows begin Wednesday, Oct. 1, and end Thursday, Oct. 2. Visit the fairgrounds and show your support to these dedicated exhibitors as they compete for grand and reserve prize.
Following the shows is the Youth Auction of Champions Friday, Oct. 3, where sponsors can purchase livestock projects for premium prices. Learn more about Texas youth in agriculture and the Youth Auction of Champions here.
