The State Fair is the perfect place to let your little city slickers get their boots a little dusty and kick up their heels.
The Fair provides several activities, all included in your admission, to let your little ones have fun on the farm.
All of the activities are designed for kids and will create great memories for your little buckaroos!
Pee Wee Stampede – A fun-filled activity that allows the littlest of cowhands to grab a hat and bandanna and mount stick horses to compete in a variety of mock-rodeo events. From bronco busting to barrel racing, kids are the stars of this rodeo. There are three schedule performances beginning at noon. Activity is suitable for kids four to eight years old. Presented by Sesodyne.
Children’s Health Barnyard – Get up close and personal with lots of different types of animals from giraffes and zebras to pigs and goats. While at the Barnyard, visit the nursery where sows, ewes, nanny goats and their young are spotlighted. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Barnyard is suitable for all ages. Presented by Children’s Health.
Kid’s Tractor Pulls – Kids from age four to 12 are invited to test their tractor driving skills and leg power to win a prize as crowds cheer. Each vintage pedal tractor is weighted so the farther one pedals, the harder it is to reach the finish line. Kids compete to see who can pull the most weight. Four daily sets of races. First race begins at 12:30 p.m. Tractor Pulls are suitable for ages four to 12 years old. Presented by Ag-Power.
Little Hands on the Farm – Kids love this miniature farm where they can plant seeds, gather eggs and drive a tiny tractor before harvesting crops and taking them to market. And with earnings from sold crops, snacks can be purchased in the General Store. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Little Hands is suitable for toddlers to eight years old. Presented by Walmart, WFAA and Ag-Power.
Big Tex’s Barnyard – Calves, piglets, hatching chicks and more can be found at Big Tex’s Barnyard. Learn how farmers and ranchers produce food to feed the world and how animals are cared for and raised. There are fun photo opportunities with Big Tex and other barnyard animals. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Critter Fitter Demonstrations start at 11 a.m. Big Tex’s Barnyard is suitable for all ages. Located in Cattle Barn 1.
