Located in the Creative Arts building, Fair-goers of all ages compete dish-to-dish in culinary challenges at the State Fair Competition Kitchen.
Each day of the State Fair brings new and exciting cooking competitions to the Competition Kitchen. Popular events include cake and cookie baking, one-pot meals, a Red River Rivalry-themed biscuit challenge, and much more.
Visit the Competition Kitchen to see who will win the blue ribbon for baking and cooking skills. Contest judging begins daily at 10:30 a.m., unless otherwise noted.

Participate in Creative Arts Contests
Want to vie for a blue ribbon in the Competition Kitchen? Creative Arts competitions allow non-professionals to show off cooking talent in the kitchen. The majority of contests held in the State Fair Contest Kitchen allow day-of registration. A handful of events known as “cooks” (baking/cooking done on-site in the Contest Kitchen) require entrants to pre-register and participate in a pre-fair lottery.
