Big Tex Urban Farms is an “innovative destination” that welcomes all to see the opportunities that are available to the urban farmer and to learn more during the “Innovations in Agriculture” exhibit at the annual State Fair of Texas. The Farms also provide opportunities to get a hands-on experience through volunteering since all the natural produce that is grown in the Farms year-round is donated to surrounding organizations centered on hunger and healthy lifestyle programs.
Whether you want to show off your green thumb or volunteer to learn more, we want YOU to experience what it means to be an urban farmer.

Please note that tasks vary depending on the day and time of year. It is highly recommended that you bring sun protection, water and wear clothing that is both breathable and can get dirty. NOTE: ALL volunteers must sign the volunteer release form. If you are under 18 and are interested in volunteering, please download the volunteer release form and have a parent or guardian sign and turn in with the rest of your additional information below.
