Scholarship Program

Established in 1992, the State Fair of Texas Scholarship Program has awarded approximately
 $3 million in new and renewed scholarships. The fund is open to eligible high school seniors from
 around the state who participate in State Fair livestock shows and to outstanding students 
attending the following Fair Park-area high schools: Lincoln, James Madison, North Dallas, Woodrow Wilson and the Irma L. Rangel YWL School. Recipients receive a $5,000 grant, renewable in $1,250 annual increments if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA toward their college degree at a Texas university and/or community college.

The submission period for 2015 State Fair of Texas scholarships is open.

2015 Applications

Applications for graduating high school seniors will be accepted from January 2 – March 1, 2015.

Eligible high school seniors should note that these scholarships are for in-state schools only. No out-of-state scholarships are offered by the State Fair of Texas.

Pete Schenkel Scholarships

Each year, to honor its past Chairman Pete Schenkel, the State Fair of Texas awards multiple $5,000 scholarships to selected applicants from these five Fair Park-area high schools: Lincoln, James Madison, North Dallas, Woodrow Wilson and the Irma L. Rangel YWL School. The scholarship is paid over four years, $625 a semester (Two payments of $312.50 each will be sent directly to your college or university).

Youth Livestock Scholarships

The State Fair of Texas awards $5,000 scholarship to selected applicants who have participated in specific Youth Livestock competitive events held at the State Fair of Texas at Fair Park in Dallas. The scholarship is paid over four years, $625 a semester (Two payments of $312.50 each will be sent directly to your college or university). Scholarships are given to applicants who are enrolling in an agricultural-related curriculum or agricultural-benefiting natural science curriculum at a college or university in Texas.
