Established in 1992, the State Fair of Texas Scholarship Program has awarded approximately $3 million in new and renewed scholarships. The fund is open to eligible high school seniors from around the state who participate in State Fair livestock shows and to outstanding students attending the following Fair Park-area high schools: Lincoln, James Madison, North Dallas, Woodrow Wilson and the Irma L. Rangel YWL School. Recipients receive a $5,000 grant, renewable in $1,250 annual increments if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA toward their college degree at a Texas university and/or community college.
The submission period for 2015 State Fair of Texas scholarships is open.
Applications for graduating high school seniors will be accepted from January 2 – March 1, 2015. Attention seniors – it’s not too late to send in your applications! Due to the recent winter weather conditions and school cancellations statewide, the State Fair of Texas is extending the deadline for college scholarship applications to Friday, March 6, 2015.
Eligible high school seniors should note that these scholarships are for in-state schools only. No out-of-state scholarships are offered by the State Fair of Texas.
