Howdy, folks! We would like to welcome Evan Pounds with Southwest Airlines and Merry Munson Wyatt with The Munson Realty Company to the State Fair of Texas Advisory Board. We thank them for volunteering their time and look forward to continuing our partnerships with dedicated community leaders to further the nonprofit mission of the State Fair of Texas and continue hosting a world-renowned event for folks to celebrate all things Texan.
Evan Pounds is a senior technology and operations leader with more than 15 years of experience driving strategic initiatives across HR, Finance, and Internal Audit functions. Currently at Southwest Airlines, he leads enterprise-wide efforts to improve efficiency, governance, and service delivery through innovative, people-focused solutions for the HR Salesforce case management solution and governance of the Employee and Finance agile portfolios. A proud Texan, Evan is passionate about preserving the state’s rich traditions while fostering progress through education, technology, and community engagement. Through his membership and leadership of the State Fair of Texas, he is honored to support the mission of the Fair. Evan serves as the immediate past president of the State Fair of Texas Chairman’s Task Force and was a member for 11 years. He holds an MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University and a B.S. in Business Administration from Trinity University.
Merry Munson Wyatt is President of The Munson Realty Company, founded in Denison, TX in 1915. She is a fifth-generation family member of one of the oldest, continually operating family-held companies in the United States. A graduate of The Hockaday School and the University of Texas at Austin, Merry’s previous experience in the Dallas offices of Cushman and Wakefield, Trammell Crow Company, and CBRE brings a wealth of commercial real estate knowledge and experience to her role as the company’s President. Merry is Chairwoman of the Denison Development Foundation and is also a Director of the W.B. Munson Foundation, which supports nonprofit organizations in Grayson County. Additionally, Merry is a member of The Crystal Charity Ball, the Executive Committee of the St. Mark’s Parents Association, a former member of Cattle Baron’s Ball, and active in the Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Pi Beta Phi, the Hockaday Alumnae Association, and a Life Member of Texas Exes. Merry lives in Dallas with her husband, Brady, son Brady IV, and daughters Susie and Whitley.
