Big Texas Music Exhibit
Presented by the Les Paul Foundation, The Dallas Morning News and NBC 5.
Texas music is celebrated not only here in our great state, but all across the country. Honoring well-known Texas artists, the “Big Texas Music” exhibit includes memorabilia, audiovisual displays and social interactive pieces, as well as daily live music performances from a wide variety of artists. The exhibit features both artists who were born in Texas and those who have lived here and consider themselves natives. Spanning numerous decades, “Big Texas Music” showcases famous Texas musicians from every genre, celebrating the diverse range of talent hailing from the Lone Star State.

Wild West Pet Palooza
Presented by Kroger.
The Wild West Pet Palooza, featuring Joel Slaven’s Professional Animals, includes an array of comical skits starring animals that have been rescued from shelters across the nation. Boasting an impressive cast of critters ranging from cats and dogs to pigs and porcupines, this show is full of family fun. The show is run by nationally acclaimed animal trainer Joel Slaven, who has been working with animals for more than 40 years and has trained animals for major films such as “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” and “That Darn Cat.” Slaven and his staff of trainers have adopted hundreds of homeless pets and brought them back to star in shows all around the country. Shows at 1, 2:30, 4:30 and 6 p.m. in the Band Shell.

Guided Livestock Tour
Want to get up close and personal with State Fair livestock? Take a tour of their living quarters and have all your questions answered by resident student experts! Livestock is at the heart of Texas culture, economy and livelihood. At the State Fair livestock barns you can test your livestock terminology and check out more than 15 different breeds of cattle, along with an assortment of sheep, rabbits, llamas and more. 16 daily guided tours every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, departing from the Champions Row area in Ag-Power Plaza.

Butter Sculpture
Presented by Pollo Tropical.
Amidst the blue ribbon winning contest entries displayed throughout the Creative Arts building lies an equally unique creation – the State Fair butter sculpture. Renowned sculptress Sharon BuMann returns to the Fair for the eighteenth year, impressing visitors with her ability to create a masterpiece entirely out of butter.

Thrifty Thursday
Presented by Silverleaf Resorts.
