Tex-Mex Contest
State Fair Competition Kitchen Sponsored by The Home Depot.
Ready! Set! Cook! The State Fair Competition Kitchen heats up when it holds its daily cooking contests, and Tex-Mex day is no different. Amateur home chefs from across the state bring their best Tex-Mex dishes to be tasted and judged by a panel of experts. Visit the Competition Kitchen to see who will bring home the blue ribbon! Judging begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Creative Arts building.

Mundo Latino
A celebration of Latin culture, Mundo Latino brings a unique exhibit to the Fair every year. Housed inside the Women’s Museum, the annual Mundo Latino exhibit focuses on a different aspect of Hispanic culture each year. An educational opportunity for all fairgoers, Mundo Latino provides a unique experience for people of Hispanic heritage as well as any visitors interested in learning more about the rich Latin culture. Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Women’s Museum building.

Kids’ Boardwalk
Presented by McDonalds.
Free and just for kids, the State Fair of Texas Kids’ Boardwalk is where fun lives! Kid-friendly acts like Ronald McDonald and Buford Buzzard join new additions such as an interactive magic show and a tiny cowboy puppet, along with games, crafts and face painting. Make sure you stop in and get your temporary Big Tex tattoo! This outdoor area is located near the Leonhardt Lagoon, conveniently close to the Wild West Pet Palooza and Big Tex’s Farmyard – two other family favorites. Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Chevrolet Main Stage
Presented by Chevrolet.
With live music as one of its cornerstones, the State Fair of Texas presents 24 days of free concerts on the Chevrolet Main Stage, featuring a variety of musical acts across all genres. The stage showcases national and regional talent of all types, with all performances included in the price of admission. This afternoon, national recording artist Pesado takes the Main Stage at 5:30 p.m.

Lone Star Horse Spectacular
From 1519 to present day, six flags have flown over the great state of Texas. In the Fair’s newest production, visitors get the chance to celebrate the rich history of our state and each of its flags as they are paraded in a horse-led pageantry. Themed to traditional Texas music, the event features professional riders on horseback, performing in coordination with the historical narrative. Sit down and join Texas native Barry Corbin as he narrates the show, telling the spectacular story of the great Lone Star State. Shows at 3, 4, and 5 p.m. in the Pan-American Arena.
