Following the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction, the Capital Circle recognized Roger Perry with its highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award. Fundamental pillars of the State Fair’s nonprofit mission – promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement – are integral to the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction. This event is made possible each year by the support of community leaders, local businesses, participating exhibitors, the individuals who organize the event, and generous donors and fundraisers.
At the 77th Annual Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction, held on Friday, October 3, 2025, the Capital Circle presented Roger Perry with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Capital Circle’s highest recognition is reserved for individuals who have raised $500,000 or donated $250,000 in support of the Auction and its programs.
Roger Perry has served on the Youth Livestock Auction Committee since 2011. He judged the Agricultural Public Speaking Contest and joined the Development Cabinet in 2022, and has been a proud member of the Capital Circle since 2023. His enduring commitment to the Fair and its nonprofit mission helps the Fair continue to fund key initiatives, including more than $21.4 million in auction awards and college scholarships for students across the state of Texas.
The State Fair of Texas extends its deepest gratitude to Roger Perry for his generosity and dedication to the State Fair of Texas, its mission, and students across Texas. To learn more about agriculture and livestock programs at the Fair and how to get involved, please visit BigTex.com/Livestock.
