The State Fair of Texas welcomes football fans to the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium on Saturday, October 10, 2020 for the iconic Red River Showdown.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s game is limited to 25% capacity. To provide fans with the best experience possible, while keeping health and safety top of mind, only a limited number of tickets will be distributed by the University of Texas and University of Oklahoma overseeing ticket distribution.

The State Fair of Texas’ Big Tex Fair Food Drive-Thru will be closed to public on October 10 for the AT&T Red River Showdown. You must have a valid ticket to the 2020 game in order to enter Fair Park on October 10.

Plan to Stay Safe

Fans are asked to do their part by conscientiously practicing physical/social distancing, frequently washing hands, using hand sanitizer, wearing face coverings, and entering the assigned gate on their ticket to ensure the safest possible environment for this year’s AT&T Red River Showdown. All fans should keep a safe distance between their party and other fans while inside and outside of Cotton Bowl Stadium.

Our number one priority is the health and safety of everyone involved. With that in mind, we will be implementing the following health and safety protocols, in addition to others recommended by the local, state, and federal government and other relevant health agencies:

Social distancing of six (6) feet or more between parties when on the fairgrounds or in Cotton Bowl Stadium.

Masks. Guests are required to wear a protective face mask to protect themselves and all parties. Other face coverings including clear face shields, gaiters/buffs, bandanas, or masks with valves are not permitted. Masks may be removed temporarily only if necessary, for eating and drinking while in the stadium seating bowl or in common areas.

Hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the grounds.

All team members are required to wear protective face masks to safely cover their mouth and nose at all times.

All team members are subject to temperature checks upon arriving at work.

All team members are required to wash hands prior to starting work and frequently during shifts and between tasks.

All team members handling food are required to wear gloves and change them frequently during shifts and between tasks.

Directions & Parking Information

When planning your trip to Fair Park for the 2020 AT&T Red River Showdown, it’s important to plan ahead. Below are some recommended directions to the fairgrounds based on which gate you are planning to enter and park at on the grounds.

Parking at the State Fair of Texas for the 2020 AT&T Red River Showdown can be accessed at Gates 5, 6, 8, 10, and 11. For guests parking in official State Fair parking lots, proof of a game ticket will be required before parking will be allowed. Please be prepared to show proof of game ticket when arriving to park. For the health and safety of all attendees, every guest in a car must have a valid 2020 game ticket to enter the fairgrounds on game day.

Official State Fair parking lots and entry gates will open at 8:00 a.m.

Directions to Parking Lots at Gates 5 and 6

If you are driving on I-30 east from downtown Dallas, take exit 47 onto Second Avenue and bear right onto Robert B Cullum Boulevard. Gate 5 is accessed at the Grand Avenue/Lipscomb Way intersection. To access Gate 6, continue south on Robert B Cullum Boulevard, and turn left at the Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard intersection. Gate 6 may also be accessed from I-45 by using the Martin Luther King Jr exit. Turn onto Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard towards Fair park and continue straight directly to the entrance at Gate 6.

If you are driving on I-30 west from Rockwall, take exit 49B towards Winslow and E. Grand Avenue. Turn left onto Dolphin Road, then take a right onto Haskell Avenue. Continue straight onto Stonewall Street, then turn left onto Parry Avenue. Continue to Robert B Cullum Boulevard, and Gate 5 will be on your left at the intersection with Lipscomb Way. To access Gate 6, continue straight on Robert B Cullum Blvd.

The parking lots at Gates 5 and 6 generally fill quickly with guests arriving early. Guests arriving closer to kickoff time can sidestep traffic congestion at these gates by continuing south on Robert B. Cullum Boulevard in the right lanes toward South Fitzhugh Avenue to access Gates 10 and 11. Once Gate 5 and 6 lots are full, all guests will be directed to Gates 10 and 11.

Directions to Parking Lots at Gates 10 and 11

If you are driving on I-30 east from downtown Dallas, you can avoid traffic congestion at the Second Avenue exit by continuing I-30 to Haskell Avenue (Exit 48A) or Barry Avenue (Exit 48B).

Haskell Avenue Option: Take 48A exit and turn left onto Haskell Avenue. Continue approximately 1.5 miles and then turn right onto Crosstown Expressway. Crosstown Expressway will merge into South Fitzhugh Boulevard. The entrances to Gates 11 and 10 are on your right, in that order.

 

Barry Avenue Option: Exit 48B and turn right onto Barry Avenue. Continue approximately 1.2 miles to the gate entrances. Barry Avenue will merge into Crosstown Expressway and then South Fitzhugh Avenue along this course. The entrances to Gates 11 and 10 are on your right, in that order.

Disabled Parking

There is available disabled parking in the parking lots at Gate 5 and Gate 11, and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Valet Parking

Valet parking is not available for the 2020 AT&T Red River Showdown.

RV and Over-sized Vehicles

RV’s and over-sized vehicles should enter through and park at Gate 8, located along Fitzhugh Ave. near Robert B. Cullum Blvd.

Cost

Parking is $25 per car and can be accessed at Gates 5, 6, 8, 10, and 11. Daytime parking only. Payment options include cash, credit/debit cards, and Apple/Google Pay.

Rideshare

Rideshare (taxi, Uber, Lyft, Alto, etc.) drop off and pick up will be located at the Gate 1, which is located at Gurley Ave & S. Haskell Ave. (4200 block of Gurley Avenue).

Security

Official State Fair parking lots are within the fenced area of Fair Park and patrolled regularly by security and the Dallas Police Department.

DART Rail

The fairgrounds are serviced by two DART stations - Fair Park Station, located on Parry Avenue at the main entrance to the fairgrounds, and MLK, Jr. Station, located south of Robert B. Cullum Blvd. and convenient to the MLK fairground entrance (Gate 6) and the Cotton Bowl Stadium.

Fans who are not feeling well or have been in close contact with someone they suspect may be infected with COVID-19 should stay home and contact their doctor.

Clear Bag Policy

For the safety of all attendees, a clear bag policy is in effect for all events at Cotton Bowl Stadium within Fair Park.

Approved bags include (one bag per person):

Bags or totes that are clear plastic and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”

One-gallon clear resealable plastic storage bags

Small clutch bags or purses do not have to be clear, but cannot exceed 4.5” x 6.5”

Prohibited bags include:

Fanny Packs

Mesh or straw bags

Duffle Bags

Backpacks

Clear backpacks are also prohibited

Cases

Cases for a camera, binocular, etc.

Large Totes

Diaper Bags

However, items normally carried in a diaper bag can be put into a clear plastic bag for venue entry

Plastic bags or totes

This includes tinted, printed pattern, or reusable grocery totes.

Large Purses (larger than 4.5” x 6.5”)

Larger than 4.5” x 6.5”

Non-clear merchandise bag

Note: Express lanes will be in place at each gate for those who do not bring bags into the stadium. Bags that are necessary for medical equipment will be searched at each gate.

Other than the bag policy, all other items on the prohibited list remain consistent.

All carried items and entrants are subject to search. Prohibited items must be returned to the owner’s car or discarded. Any unlawful items are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession of such items is subject to arrest. Items left at the gate will be discarded.

All games played in Cotton Bowl Stadium are subject to the following rules

BAG INSPECTIONS

For the safety of all attendees, all bags and items are subject to inspection upon entry and are subject to additional inspections within the stadium. Please see clear bag policy for full details.

BEER PURCHASE

Beer is available for purchase both inside and outside the stadium, however, once purchased, no beer or other alcoholic beverages will be allowed to enter or exit Cotton Bowl Stadium on game day.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • All Bags, including backpacks (unless clear plastic and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”)
  • Purses (larger than 4.5” x 6.5”)
  • Medical Bags will be inspected upon entry
  • All weapons of any sort
  • Any explosive or flammable items
  • Alcoholic beverages of any kind
  • Artificial noisemakers (bells, horns, kazoos, whistles, etc.)
  • Banners, flags, flag poles, signs, umbrellas, etc.
  • Cameras with detachable lenses greater than 10”. Video cameras, selfie sticks, tripods, monopods, and other similar items
  • Coolers
  • Food & beverages
  • Any items deemed a safety hazard or annoyance (balls, balloons, firearms, fireworks, Frisbees, glass, hard plastic or metal water bottles, laser pointers, etc.)
  • Pets (service dogs permitted)
  • Tobacco products of any kind, including e-­cigarettes
  • Any type of seat cushions or chair backs
  • Strollers
  • Baby seats

All carried items and entrants are subject to search. Prohibited items must be returned to the owner’s car or discarded. Any unlawful items are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession of such items is subject to arrest. Items left at the gate will be discarded.
