Whether you’re a dare devil or the carousel is more your speed, the State Fair of Texas Midway has something for you.
The State Fair Midway features more than 70 rides including the Thrillway, the Kidway, the iconic 212-ft. Texas Star® Ferris wheel, the 500-ft. Top o’ Texas Tower and the 1914 Dentzel Carousel – not to mention enough Midway games to keep you entertained for hours!
A few things to know before you head to the State Fair of Texas Midway:
- State Fair food/ride coupons are used to pay for Midway rides. Coupons are $.50 each and may be purchased at coupons booths located throughout the fairgrounds. The average ride is 10 to 12 coupons. Food/ride coupons can be purchased online in advance, just allow 7 days for delivery.
- The Kidway area of the Midway caters to young fairgoers, featuring rides suitable for children two years of age and older.
- In order to play games at the State Fair of Texas, you must purchase a Big Tex Game Card. These cards can be purchased at booths and kiosks adjacent to the gaming areas.
While visiting the Midway, don’t forgot to stop by the Errol McKoy Greenhouse on the Midway and enjoy music, family-friendly activities and the scenic Texas Garden Railway.
Top o’ Texas Tower
Soaring 500 feet into the air, the Top o’ Texas Tower offers sweeping views of downtown Dallas and the surrounding area. On clear fall days riders can see AT&T Stadium in Arlington and even as far as Fort Worth. Take a ride on the Top o’ Texas Tower and make it part of your yearly State Fair tradition.
Texas Star Ferris wheel
A Dallas skyline icon! Year after year, State Fair visitors love to take a relaxing spin on the Texas Star Ferris wheel, the largest Ferris wheel in Texas. Riders can enjoy a birds-eye view of the State Fair and downtown Dallas from a height of 212 feet.
Enjoy a breathtaking view of Fair Park from the Texas SkyWay. The aerial track stretches 1,800 feet between two stations; gondolas accommodate strollers or wheelchairs. The ride soars high above the sights and sounds of the colorful Midway.
A must-ride classic at the State Fair of Texas. The 1914 Dentzel Carousel has been a staple on the fairgrounds since the early 1950s. Be sure to take a spin on this one-of-a-kind antique amusement ride loved by fairgoers of all ages.
Cool off and make a splash on the Midway on the Sparklett’s Log Flume. Riders of all ages will enjoy winding through colorful, lighted tunnels on a swiftly-moving river. Both kids and adults will love heading up and over the Log Flume waterfall where a big splash of cool H2O awaits!
