Buckle up for the 2022 Texas Auto Show! Today’s Media Day press conference lineup included big announcements from a long list of top manufacturers. Since 1913, the auto show has been an important part of the State Fair of Texas, and the Fair is proud to continually provide an engaging environment where manufacturers can interact with consumers through displays and experiences.
Whether you’re a diehard car fanatic or you just like to look around at the newest models, this event is the ultimate destination for all things auto. Highlights from each manufacturer featured at today’s press conference can be found below.
CHEVROLET
Chevrolet used the State Fair of Texas to showcase the redesigned Silverado HD pickup truck. In addition to the Silverado HD, Chevy also displayed the 2024 Silverado EV, the 2024 Equinox EV, and the 2024 Blazer EV. The new, 2023 Corvette Z06 is also on display.
“We’re thrilled to showcase the new Silverado HD for the first time at the State Fair of Texas,” said Michael MacPhee, director of marketing for Chevy Trucks. “Texans rely on their trucks to work hard. We’ve designed the Silverado HD to be our customers’ favored choice for true truck capability.”
FORD
Ford is showcasing its all-new 2023 Ford F-Series Super Duty lineup – just days after its reveal – at the State Fair of Texas. The company announced this week it is investing $700 million and adding 500 manufacturing jobs to support production for the lineup, which features unmatched capability, cutting-edge technology and a suite of cloud-based services for new levels of productivity. In addition to the broadest range of engines in the class from 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 gas engines to a 7.3-liter V8 with improved air intake and tuning, the 2023 F-Series Super Duty is the first pickup in the United States with embedded 5G capability.
NISSAN
Debuting in person for the first time during the Texas Auto Show, the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek takes the “return to rugged” theme of the new Pathfinder to a new level of capability with more power, off-road tuned suspension, increased ground clearance, and all-terrain tires. Pathfinder helps owners take more adventurous journeys with the addition of an off-road-inspired Rock Creek grade, designed for drivers with the desire to venture away from the pavement.
RAM
Dodge Ram unveiled the new 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel at the State Fair of Texas today. This new model expands the brand’s heavy-duty lineup and offers a unique and exceptional combination of off-road performance without sacrificing towing and payload capabilities. Also unveiled, the new Ram 1500 ‘Built to Serve’ Emergency Medical Service (EMS) model. This latest ‘Built to Serve’ model honors the frontline heroes who provide emergency medical services and save lives every day. Production of the Ram 1500 ‘Built to Serve’ EMS model will begin at
the Sterling Heights (Michigan) Assembly Plant in the fourth quarter of 2022. Fairgoers can also take a wild ride on the Ram TRX Thrill Ride at the 2022 State Fair of Texas – a test drive that’s Big Tex-sized, located right across from the Magnolia Beer Garden.
TOYOTA
This year, Toyota highlighted the 2023 all-new Sequoia along with several other 2023 models, including the Tundra, Highlander, RAV4 Hybrid, and the Corolla Cross Hybrid. The all-new 2023 Toyota Sequoia lives up to its powerful and legendary namesake, with a standard i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain that provides 437 hp, 583 lb.-ft. of Torque and a maximum towing capacity of up to 9,520 lbs. The new Sequoia is now assembled at Toyota’s San Antonio manufacturing plant, along side Tundra. Additionally, to celebrate 4Runner’s 40th Anniversary, Toyota is offering a distinctive 4WD-only 2023 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition. Appropriately, 4,040 of these special editions are available for our enthusiasts here in the U.S. market.
