HOW YOU CAN HELP GIVE BACK

The Chairman’s Task Force serves the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Fair of Texas. Members serve as ambassadors and fundraisers/volunteers for the State Fair and to promote its philanthropic purposes. Active membership serves as a training ground to the State Fair’s many other groups, events, and committees.

The State Fair of Texas is passionate about agricultural education and supporting students through the Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program.

The State Fair is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Any contribution of $250 or more will receive a tax letter noting the deductible portion of a contribution.

BIG TEX CLAY SHOOT CLASSIC

Clay shooting translates into scholarships at the Big Tex Clay Shoot Classic.  Teams of clay shoot enthusiasts gather in North Texas to compete for first place and bragging rights. One hundred percent of the money given to and raised at this event goes to support the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program. This program supports students from across the state, including those attending one of six area high schools surrounding Fair Park.

In 2023, the Big Tex Clay Shoot Classic broke an all-time fundraising record as teams gathered and competed in the friendly tournament at the Dallas Gun Club. Nearly $300,000 was raised, with all the proceeds going towards the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program.

BIG TEX GOLF CLASSIC

The Annual Big Tex Golf Classic is a fundraising event where golfers compete to raise money for Texas students. One hundred percent of the money raised at this event goes to support the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program, which has awarded more than $32 million in auction awards and college scholarships in its history.

The 2023 Big Tex Golf Classic was a hole-in-one for Texas students. A record-breaking $196,700 was raised at the event, with all proceeds going directly to the Fair’s Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program. A competitive 68 teams comprised of 276 golfers competed at the event held at both Tenison Highlands and Tenison Glen golf courses in Dallas. The tournament’s first-place team on the Glen was All American Turf Solutions with a score of 58, and the first-place team on the Highlands was Mansfield High School with a score of 53.

BIG TEX YOUTH LIVESTOCK AUCTION

The State Fair of Texas Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program is a time-honored tradition that celebrates and supports urban and rural youth across Texas. Winning exhibitors are eligible to sell projects through a live auction where sponsors pay premium prices for the youth exhibitors’ hard work. To participate, these youth invest time, passion, and energy in animals with hopes of walking away with the Grand Champion prize in this year’s 75th Annual Auction.
