For the first time in recent State Fair of Texas history, fairgoers can park for free at official State Fair parking lots, thanks to DraftKings. On Friday, October 9, DraftKings will cover the cost of parking for State Fair guests throughout the entire Fair day, saving fairgoers $25 per vehicle and creating a historic savings opportunity for those heading to the Most Texan Place on Earth.
The one-day initiative gives fairgoers another way to save while enjoying everything they love about the State Fair, from iconic Fair food and Midway thrills to live music, livestock, shopping, and entertainment.
“We’re always looking for ways to make a day at the State Fair more accessible and affordable for our fairgoers, and we’re incredibly grateful to DraftKings for helping us offer free parking for the first time in our history,” said Mitchell Glieber, president of the State Fair of Texas. “This is a great opportunity for folks to save before they even walk through the gates and spend the day experiencing everything the State Fair of Texas has to offer.”
Free parking will be available at official State Fair of Texas parking lots on Friday, October 9, courtesy of DraftKings, a savings of $25 per vehicle. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to availability. Official State Fair parking lots will open at 9:30 a.m., with gates opening for admission at 10 a.m. Fairgoers driving to the Fair are encouraged to take Exit 48A on I-30 to access official State Fair parking lots and follow directional signage upon arrival. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, as free parking is not guaranteed and is available only while spaces last.
The historic initiative adds to the many ways fairgoers can save throughout the 2026 State Fair, with a variety of admission discounts, food and beverage deals, and other opportunities to make the most of their visit. Once inside the gates, more than 100 activities and attractions are included with admission, from live music and entertainment to educational exhibits and more.
A day at the State Fair creates memories that last long after Big Tex says, “Happy Trails.” But the impact of a patron’s Fair day goes even further. As a nonprofit organization, the State Fair of Texas reinvests in its year-round mission of agriculture, education, and community. From scholarships and opportunities for Texas students, to supporting youth in agriculture, providing fresh produce to Fair Park neighbors, strengthening communities across the state, and investing in the future of Fair Park, the State Fair works year-round to make a difference across Texas. A patron’s Fair day helps Texans every day.
