Pets are NOT allowed, but service dogs are welcome on the fairgrounds during the State Fair of Texas; however, for safety reasons, they are not allowed in certain areas, including the Livestock Birthing Barn, Petting Zoo, Discovery Farm, and barns or facilities where livestock animals are present. To ensure our guests who have service dogs are able to enjoy these livestock attractions, the State Fair provides dog crates located near the attraction where the service dog may be kenneled by the owner during the guest’s visit. Sizable crates, supervised by State Fair staff, will be made available to any guest with a service dog who would like to make their way through the aforementioned areas. Once you are ready to leave those areas, you may retrieve your service dog and continue your Fair visit. If you choose not to use the designated crates for your service dog, you will be politely asked to leave the respective livestock areas. Signage addressing our new policy will be clearly posted at admission gates and livestock entry points. At the forefront, we aim to make the State Fair of Texas a fun and safe environment for all.
