Community Engagement Day

Networking for the Community

For the past six years we have been elated to bring together individuals from across the metroplex to the Community Engagement Day.  This year Community Engagement Day will offer the opportunity for nonprofit organizations to meet and connect in person three times throughout the year.

You are invited to attend the next quarterly Annual Community Engagement Day Luncheons for 2025. This is your chance to connect with other nonprofits in order to share resources and discover new opportunities to collaborate. Submit your information below and instruction on attending and parking will be emailed to you soon.

Meet Our Guest Speaker

Senator Royce West

State Senator Royce West was elected in 1992 to serve the citizens of Dallas County in Texas Senate District 23. Senator West attended Dallas public schools and graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School. Before earning undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Texas at Arlington, he was elected as the student body president, then graduated law school from the University of Houston. Senator West rose to become Chief Felony Prosecutor for the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office before entering private practice, and he currently serves as managing partner of West & Associates, LLP.

Senator West’s vision helped to establish the University of North Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas at Dallas–College of Law, and created the nation’s first doctorate program in Juvenile Justice at Prairie View A&M. He pioneered Texas’ Kinship Care laws to help children be adopted by relatives and diverted from the foster care system and wrote legislation creating the state’s in-car and body-worn camera programs for law enforcement. He also authored legislation that allows credits earned at community colleges to be readily accepted by four-year universities.

Senator West is active in numerous civic organizations and is a member of Concord Baptist Church. He currently serves as President of the Circle 10 Council of the Boy Scouts of America, having been a strong supporter of Scouting for over two decades. Senator West has been named one of the Ten Best Legislators by Texas Monthly magazine and recognized by other publications.
