Howdy’s
State Fair foodies can look forward to a new food destination located across from the Lagoon, adjacent to the Children’s Aquarium. Families can sit back and relax while enjoying a kid-friendly atmosphere and tasty cuisine. The venue includes its very own stage, which will house two Fair-favorite shows, Buford Buzzard and Bob Warr’s Magic Chuck Wagon.
Backyard Steak-out & Pizzeria
State Fair foodies can look forward to a new food locale featuring steaks, brick oven pizzas, and much more to hit the grounds this fall. Backyard Steak-Out & Pizzeria brings another destination to relax between activities or grab a bite to eat, located on Nimitz Avenue near the Livestock Barns. This oasis rounds out the Fair’s restaurant lineup with plenty of shade, live music, and the perfect location to watch the nightly Starlight Parade.
Beer Haven
Beer Haven is touted as the world’s largest bar on wheels – a 53-foot-long mobile brewery featuring 60 different local beers on tap every day, including a special collection of fair-themed brews like a cotton candy-flavored ale. On weekends, this venue features live music and entertainment, along with visits from brewers sharing tricks of the trade and performing beer-making demos every Saturday!
Bluebonnet Roadhouse
With an indoor and outdoor beer and large covered patio overlooking Nimitz Drive, the Bluebonnet Roadhouse has it all. An ideal spot for sports fans, there are several TVs scattered throughout the venue. The venue offers an extensive variety of craft beers, wine, frozen drinks and wine-based spirits, as well as a selection of bar-type foods.
Fernie’s Skyway Porch
Nestled beneath the Texas Skyway and behind Big Tex, you can relax in rocking chairs and sip on a hard soda or cotton candy cocktail while enjoying one of the best views of the fairgrounds! Serving “light bites,” ice cold beer and refreshing wine-based cocktails on tap, Fernie’s is just like relaxing on your grandmother’s front porch.
Gulf Coast Grill
Another destination to relax between activities or grab a bite to eat, the Gulf Coast Grill is located next to the Leonhardt Lagoon across from Cotton Bowl Plaza. The island-style grill rounds out the Fair’s restaurant lineup with a surf and turf flair. It will also feature live music from local artists on weekends.
Magnolia Beer Garden
A hidden gem at the State Fair of Texas, the Magnolia Beer Garden is the ideal destination for beer connoisseurs. With a vast assortment of brews, there is something to please every taste! Patrons love this relaxing environment, located in the outdoor courtyard of the historic Magnolia Lounge.
State Fair of Texas Wine Garden
Exclusively offering wines crafted in the Lone Star State, the State Fair of Texas Wine Garden features three different wineries each day and offers guests the choice of buying a small taste, a glass or a bottle. On weekends, visitors can experience the musical talents of local jazz bands, and chat with winemakers sharing their expertise on refining the palate.
Trio on the Green
Bringing a new concept of “bites and flights,” this new venue serves trios of appetizers and drinks. Located under three oak trees outside the Coliseum, this shady destination will serve everything in threes, from sliders and fries to flights of beer and wine.
