The State Fair of Texas works year-round to make a positive impact in Fair Park, South Dallas, and communities throughout Texas through education, community investment, agriculture, and economic opportunity.
Through the Community Giving Program, the Fair awarded more than $646,000 to 142 organizations serving the South Dallas/Fair Park area in 2025.
Since 1992, the Big Tex® Scholarship Program has awarded more than $21.4 million in college scholarships to more than 3,850 students across Texas. In 2026 alone, more than $1.2 million in new scholarships was awarded to 103 students.
Big Tex® Urban Farms celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2026 and has grown and donated more than 2 million servings of fresh produce to help serve South Dallas families while providing agricultural and educational opportunities for the community.
The annual Fair also creates opportunities for seasonal employees, small businesses, concessionaires, vendors, and community organizations.
