Following the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction, the Capital Circle awarded Bill O’Dwyer a lifetime achievement award. Fundamental pillars of the State Fair’s nonprofit mission statement, promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement are integral to the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction. Only with the support of community leaders, local businesses, participating exhibitors, individuals who organize the event, and donors/fundraisers is this event possible every year. At the 74th Annual Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction, held on Friday, October 7, the Capital Circle recognized a new lifetime achievement award winner.
The highest award in the Capital Circle is the Lifetime Achievement Award. These individuals are recognized upon having raised $500,000 or having donated $250,000. This year’s awardee is Bill O’Dwyer. Mr. O’ Dwyer, president of MIINC Mechanical Contractors was inducted into the Capital Circle in 2017. His enduring commitment to the Fair and its nonprofit mission allows the Fair to continue to support our nonprofit initiatives, including more than $30 million in auction awards and college scholarships being given to students throughout the state of Texas.
The State Fair of Texas extends our deepest gratitude to Bill O ‘Dwyer for his generosity and dedication to the State Fair of Texas, its mission, and students across Texas.
