Looking for an easy, yet delicious pound cake?! Well this recipe has got you covered. It’s deliciously fluffy and so easy to make, your kiddos can make it.
Ingredients
Cake
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 cups white sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cup milk
Icing
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons milk
Directions
Cake
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In large bowl, cream together butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla. Beat in flour mixture alternately with milk in small amounts. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 60-80 minutes until tester comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack to cool completely.
Icing
When butter and cream cheese are at room temperature, put in large bowl. Add vanilla. Beat to mix well. Add powdered sugar in batches to butter-cream cheese mixture. Thin with milk one tablespoon at a time until the proper consistency for drizzling over top of cake.
