Wild West Pet Palooza
Presented by Kroger.
The Wild West Pet Palooza, featuring Joel Slaven’s Professional Animals, includes an array of comical skits starring animals that have been rescued from shelters across the nation. Boasting an impressive cast of critters ranging from cats and dogs to pigs and porcupines, this show is full of family fun. The show is run by nationally acclaimed animal trainer Joel Slaven, who has been working with animals for more than 40 years and has trained animals for major films such as “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” and “That Darn Cat.” Slaven and his staff of trainers have adopted hundreds of homeless pets and brought them back to star in shows all around the country. Shows at 1, 2:30, 4:30 and 6 p.m. in the Band Shell.

Visit Big Tex
As the official State Fair icon, and a Texas icon himself, Big Tex welcomes the annual crowd of fairgoers with a friendly wave and a hearty, “Howdy, Folks!” Making his first Fair debut in 1952, Big Tex has since become a household name and a time-honored tradition. Year after year millions of visitors come from far and wide to experience the State Fair, holding a special place in their hearts for its beloved icon, Big Tex. Representing a place where families create lifelong memories, Big Tex embodies every aspect of Texas culture, from the spirit of tradition to the sense of community.

Big Texas Music Exhibit
Presented by the Les Paul Foundation, The Dallas Morning News and NBC 5.
Texas music is celebrated not only here in our great state, but all across the country. Honoring well-known Texas artists, the “Big Texas Music” exhibit includes memorabilia, audiovisual displays and social interactive pieces, as well as daily live music performances from a wide variety of artists. The exhibit features both artists who were born in Texas and those who have lived here and consider themselves natives. Spanning numerous decades, “Big Texas Music” showcases famous Texas musicians from every genre, celebrating the diverse range of talent hailing from the Lone Star State. Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hall of State.

Guided Livestock
Want to get up close and personal with State Fair livestock? Take a tour of their living quarters and have all your questions answered by resident student experts! Livestock is at the heart of Texas culture, economy and livelihood. At the State Fair livestock barns you can test your livestock terminology and check out more than 15 different breeds of cattle, along with an assortment of sheep, rabbits, llamas and more. Sixteen daily guided tours every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, departing from the Champions Row area in Ag-Power Plaza.

Chevrolet Main Stage
Presented by Chevrolet.
With live music as one of its cornerstones, the State Fair of Texas presents 24 days of free concerts on the Chevrolet Main Stage, featuring a variety of musical acts across all genres. The stage showcases national and regional talent of all types, with all performances included in the price of admission. The Chevrolet Main Stage is an outdoor venue with a huge, festival-style stage and an ADA-compliant area for guests needing special assistance. Today, visit the Main Stage to see national recording artists Cam (3 p.m.) and Kelsea Ballerini (5:30 p.m.) take the stage.
