High-tech evening show ignites the skies above Fair Park

Mattress Firm® promises a night of excitement with its new light and sound show, Illumination Sensation, bursting onto the scene at 8 p.m. each night during the 2008 State Fair of Texas (September 24-October 19).

Sure to be a highlight of this year’s Fair, the explosive show on the Esplanade will feature high-tech projections onto an three-dimensional light screen, liquid fire fountains that shoot flames into the night sky and computer-generated graphics synchronized to an energetic soundtrack of current and classic music favorites.

As light reflects against the surface of the Esplanade’s long, sparkling pools, the air will be set ablaze with fire and sound that echoes across the fairgrounds. An octagon-shaped projection structure made up of eight screens and an advanced audio system will ensure the audience is blasted with light, color and sound from all angles. Visitors will squeeze into every conceivable space along the 700-ft. Esplanade reflecting pool for the best vantage points.

Illumination Sensation is sponsored by Mattress Firm and produced by Interlaced Productions, a special effects company that marries art, entertainment and technology to produce shows that dazzle the eyes. The company is based in Grayson, Georgia.
